She kicked off her career in 1985 by moving from Michigan to California. In those days, it was best to locate yourself in a big city to land a creative job. Starting as an unpaid production assistant she grew to lead teams of creatives and professionals on international projects. In 2001, a life decision brought her to Ireland\u2019s \u2018wild west\u2019. But, alas, efforts to relocate her career were thwarted by poor rural internet services and traditional office work practices.
Marilyn repurposed her skills to spend the next 20-odd years as an international IT Program Manager. A 5-year gig commuting between Galway and Dublin confirmed her belief that remote working is the sane, viable alternative to burning time and petrol on a motorway. Now, she has returned to the creative sector by launching Talegate in 2022. Internet availability has improved, and the business world has begun to embrace remote working.
