Mission

Talegate is the Opposite of Conventional

At Talegate we don’t allow location, gender or minority to block talented people. Instead, we find the links that bring their talents together to create stories. Stories that you can read, watch, hear, or play!
We blend inclusivity and technology to offer you something unconventional. Our people are freed from standard-issue opportunity. Our customers find new varieties of storytelling.
All Talegate profit is returned to this cycle of inclusivity and storytelling. So that talent isn’t stifled by convention. So that location, gender and minority become the champions of opportunity. Your purchase supports a cycle of creativity and enjoyment unleashed from the status quo.
That means you get more good stories, well told.

Reputation isn’t Reality: Creative Industry Work Practices

Despite its reputation, the creative industry faces inclusivity and equality challenges. Proximity to urban areas offers opportunity; living in rural areas excludes it. Characteristics such as gender and ethnicity become barriers to participation and fair renumeration. This feeds discrimination, marginalization and stereotyping. EU and governmental policies and programs are supporting change. Talegate is making these changes happen now.

Talegate. Powered by Inclusivity and the Art of Storytelling.

Talegate doesn’t have to ‘retrofit for inclusivity’ because we’ve never been anything else. Our mission has always been to break through barriers caused by location, gender, or minority to make decent work accessible and create good stories.
Talegate is a 100% remote working enterprise. Remote working technologies and practices reinforce our promise to break barriers.
We know that Inclusivity, Diversity and Decent Work makes for unique storytelling products. These are our ‘good stories, well told’.
To demonstrate our social impact, we have adopted the UN Sustainability Goals

Inclusivity, Diversity and Decent Work

Every Talegate practice, product and service must define how it contributes to the UN Sustainable Goals. These are identified during development then tracked throughout production and sales. As the expression of our mission, Talegate has specifically adopted four UN SDG’s as our Social Impact Statements.

Our determination to break barriers caused by location, gender and minority is encompassed by UN SDG 5 & SDG 10.

Our commitment to providing consumer value and meaningful employment is anchored in UN SDG 8.

Our promise of good stories, well told, is acknowledged within UN SDG 11.

Who is Talegate?

Marilyn Fleming

Marilyn Fleming

Chair, Managing Director.

Marilyn Fleming drinks in story-telling in all its forms, marvelling at the way a good story captivates souls, hearts, and minds.
She kicked off her career in 1985 by moving from Michigan to California. In those days, it was best to locate yourself in a big city to land a creative job. Starting as an unpaid production assistant she grew to lead teams of creatives and professionals on international projects. In 2001, a life decision brought her to Ireland’s ‘wild west’. But, alas, efforts to relocate her career were thwarted by poor rural internet services and traditional office work practices.
Marilyn repurposed her skills to spend the next 20-odd years as an international IT Program Manager. A 5-year gig commuting between Galway and Dublin confirmed her belief that remote working is the sane, viable alternative to burning time and petrol on a motorway. Now, she has returned to the creative sector by launching Talegate in 2022. Internet availability has improved, and the business world has begun to embrace remote working. With her wide-rambling experience she melds creative vision with technical practicality.
